About CML

Cherupushpa Mission League (CML) is an indigenous lay missionary organisation of the Catholic Church for children who have received Holy Communion. Founded in 1947 at Bharananganam, Kerala, inspired by the prophetic words of Pope Leo XIII that "the salvation of India is in her children," CML seeks to nurture missionary awareness and active participation among young Catholics.

The organisation was initiated through the committed efforts of Rev. Fr. Joseph Maliparambil and Mr. P. C. Abraham (Kunjettan) under the guidance of the bishops of the time. St. Thérèse of Lisieux is honoured as the heavenly patroness, with St. Francis Xavier and St. Alphonsa as co-patrons.

Today, CML has grown into one of the largest lay organisations for children in Asia, spreading across dioceses in India and extending its presence to several countries abroad.

Through prayer, almsgiving, mission support, vocation promotion, cultural activities, camps, and seminars, CML provides a vibrant platform for children to live out and practise the faith they learn through catechetical formation.
